The Seoulog is a Korea travel resource written for international visitors, produced by a writer based in Seoul.
Why this site exists
There is no shortage of Korea travel content online, but the things that actually strand travelers are rarely explained properly: why Google Maps won’t give walking directions, which transit card to buy, how to describe symptoms at a pharmacy, where to go when you get sick on a trip.
Those aren’t questions a list of attractions can answer. They need the practical sequence that people living here already know. That gap is what this site is for.
How articles here are written
- Verification dates are stated. Fares and rules change, so each article notes when its details were checked, and articles are revisited periodically
- Downsides are included. A list of upsides isn’t useful. Where something is inconvenient, or wrong for a certain kind of traveler, we say so plainly
- No invented experience. Where the author hasn’t done something personally, the article says it’s based on reviewing official information rather than pretending otherwise
- Numbers over adjectives. “Not too expensive” helps nobody; “₩13,000” does
Languages
Content is published in Japanese, Traditional Chinese, English, Malay and Indonesian. These are not translations of one another — a visitor from Taipei, one from Tokyo, and one from Chicago get stuck on different things, so each version is written from that audience’s starting point.
