- Seongsu is still Korea’s pop-up capital: 468 of the country’s 2,130 pop-ups in the first half of 2026 (26 percent), 196 of them on Yeonmujang-gil alone, with about 11,000 visitors a day and a turnover of one to four weeks.
- The permanent anchors that never disappoint: Amore Seongsu (4.8, 1,088 reviews, closed Mondays), HAUS NOWHERE Seoul (4.8, 433; two-hour queues are normal), Dior Seongsu (open with the 2026–27 FW collection), Tamburins and the Musinsa Megastore that opened in April 2026.
- Find this week’s line-up on Seongsudong Gorilla (monthly round-up), popply, POP-SPOT or the English calendar at Sungsuya. Hot pop-ups need a Naver reservation or a CatchTable remote queue. Weekdays before 1 pm are the quietest.

Who this is for
- Anyone who saw a Seongsu pop-up on social media but has no idea how to find out what’s on this week
- People who want the permanent anchors—HAUS NOWHERE, Dior Seongsu and the rest—done in half a day
- Anyone who’d like the tax-refund, payment and photo etiquette sorted before they go
Seongsu used to be a district of shoe factories and car-repair shops. Today Yeonmujang-gil is lined with brand flagships in converted red-brick warehouses and pop-up stores that vanish within weeks. Sweet Spot counted 2,130 pop-ups across Korea in the first half of 2026, and 468 of them—26 percent, the most anywhere—were in Seongdong-gu. Project Rent puts daily footfall at 11,470.
2026 is also the year things started to shift. Pop-ups on Yeonmujang-gil itself fell from 233 to 196, while Yongsan (up 150 percent) and Myeongdong (up 100 percent) surged; daily rents above 10 million won pushed brands elsewhere, and the Korea Economic Daily declared the “pop-up equals Seongsu” formula broken. Here’s the thing: nowhere else has this density of permanent anchors, and for a first visit Seongsu is still the right answer.
“So what’s actually on this week?” This guide covers how to check, the permanent spots we verified, and a four-hour route starting at Ttukseom Station. Pop-up line-ups change weekly, so look at a calendar the day before you go. Let’s get into it.
Rents Tripled in Five Years! Why Seongsu Is the Pop-Up Capital: the Numbers and What Changed in 2026
✔ A launch event and a photo set in one
For Korean brands a pop-up is both a launch event and a social-media photo set. Seongsu won because its two axes—Yeonmujang-gil in Seongsu-dong 2-ga and Seoul Forest-gil in 1-ga—still had warehouses and small factories that were easy to convert. Seongdong-gu counted an average of 90 pop-ups a month in 2024 and 468 in the first half of 2026; the big players include Musinsa, which staged a 65-brand “MU Buffet in Seongsu” in August and a Roblox pop-up in spring.
Rents have tripled in five years: 160 m² on Yeonmujang-gil costs 3 million won a day, 330 m² costs 10 million. That spike is why brands scattered to Yongsan, Myeongdong and Jamsil in 2026, why the Korea Economic Daily wrote in July that “pop-up equals Seongsu” no longer holds, and why the area outside Yeonmujang-gil (272 pop-ups) overtook the street itself (196) for the first time.
Crowds have side effects. Between 2018 and 2022 Seongdong-gu’s waste rose tenfold and noise complaints 2.5 times, so the district issued a pop-up guidebook (outdoor advertising, noise, waste, temporary business registration), runs weekend-afternoon cleaning crews and disposable-cup bins that collect 3,000–4,000 cups a day, and even rents a public pop-up slot inside Seongsu Station exit 4 for 50,000 won a day. Orderly queues and photo manners on your side are part of what keeps the street open to visitors.

No Korean Needed! Finding This Week’s Pop-Ups, and How to Book and Queue
✔ The photos and dates tell you most of it
The calendars: even without Korean, the photos and dates tell you most of what you need. Seongsudong Gorilla (seongsudonggorilla.com) publishes a complete “next month in Seongsu” round-up at the end of each month and updates daily. popply.co.kr links to advance reservations, popga.co.kr does monthly digests, POP-SPOT (popspot.co.kr) refreshes automatically at 4 am and 4 pm, and Sungsuya (sungsuya.com/en) has an English calendar. On Instagram follow @seongsuseoul and @pop_upseoul; there is also a newsletter called “This Week in Seongsu”.
Hours and booking: most pop-ups run roughly 11:00–20:00, flagships until 21:00 or 22:00. For anything popular a Naver reservation or a CatchTable remote queue (sometimes requiring a Korean phone number) is effectively mandatory; arriving before opening and registering your name beats joining a paper queue at noon. Runs last two to four weeks, one-day pop-ups are common, and many end on a Sunday—check again on Friday.
Confirmed for September 2026: Spotify House Seoul (10–13 Sept, Anderson C), Singapore: Selects (4–7 Sept, ZZON), the 39-brand Korean-Japanese stationery fair Page to Pages (2–6 Sept, Yeonmujang 11-gil), the Demon Slayer exhibition (to 27 Sept) and Haikyu!! (to 21 Sept) at S-Factory, Gosty at Seoul Forest (to 14 Sept) and Teumgyeol × Esther Bunny (to 31 Oct). October line-ups will appear in late September on Seongsudong Gorilla and popga.

Two-Hour Weekend Waits at HAUS NOWHERE! The Permanent Anchors: Flagships on Yeonmujang-gil and the Warehouse Cafés
✔ Start with the hall you can enjoy without buying
Amore Seongsu (7 Achasan-ro 11-gil; 4.8, 1,088 reviews) is cosmetics giant Amorepacific’s experience hall: 10:30–20:30, closed Mondays, with free make-up classes and product trials, enjoyable without buying anything. HAUS NOWHERE Seoul (433 Ttukseom-ro; 4.8, 433) is the new headquarters of Gentle Monster’s parent company, opened on 6 September 2025: Gentle Monster on 2F, Tamburins on 1F and 3F, Atiissu and Nuflat on 3F, and Nudake’s tea house on 5F. Open 11:00–21:00; weekend waits of over two hours are normal, so arrive before opening.
Dior Seongsu (7 Yeonmujang 5-gil; 4.4, 529) was rumoured to have closed, but as of 5 August 2026 it is open with the 2026–27 FW collection, 11:00–20:00, redecorated each season. Next door, Tamburins Seongsu (8 Yeonmujang 5-gil; 4.5, 260; 11:00–21:00) is the fragrance brand’s flagship and a photo location in its own right.
Musinsa Megastore Seongsu (62 Seongsui-ro; 4.4, 48) opened on 24 April 2026 with about 1,000 brands over B1–4F, 700 of them beauty, 11:00–22:00, tax refund available. Peaches D8NE (9 Yeonmujang 3-gil; 4.3, 332) is a gallery-café-bar complex that hosts big brand activations, and S-Factory’s halls A and B lean towards anime exhibitions. The two warehouse-café landmarks are Daelim Changgo (78 Seongsui-ro; 4.2, 2,869; 11:00–22:00) and Onion Seongsu (8 Achasan-ro 9-gil; 4.2, 3,501), which opens at 8 am on weekdays—go before 9.

Start at Ttukseom Station! A Half-Day Route (About Four Hours) and the Practical Stuff: Tax Refunds, Payment, Photos
- Ttukseom Station exit 8 → Seoul Forest: a morning walk and the deer enclosure, then a coffee on Seoul Forest-gil
- Seongsu-dong 1-ga → Yeonmujang-gil: Amore Seongsu (opens 10:30) → HAUS NOWHERE (arrive before opening) → Tamburins and Dior
- The lanes off Yeonmujang-gil: two or three Project Rent pop-ups, checked on a calendar the day before
- Seongsu Station exits 3 and 4: Musinsa Megastore → Daelim Changgo → S-Factory
- Finish: coffee at Onion Seongsu or Daelim Changgo, then Line 2 from Seongsu Station to Hongdae or Gangnam
✔ Quietest on weekdays before 1 pm
Starting at Ttukseom Station makes Seoul Forest → Yeonmujang-gil flow naturally; if you want the densest pop-up stretch immediately, Seongsu Station exit 3 is the shortcut. The quietest time is weekdays before 1 pm; at weekends the main spots have queues unless you are there before opening.
Limited goods are usually pop-up- and Korea-exclusive with a per-person limit, and some require an “open run” queue before doors open. Tax refunds start at 15,000 won per purchase (not 30,000), only at member stores, passport required; large stores like Olive Young N Seongsu and Musinsa refund instantly, small pop-ups almost never. Payment is card-first—some pop-ups are card-only—and T-money is handy. Photos are welcome almost everywhere, but not of staff or other visitors, exhibition pop-ups have no-photo zones, and weekend street litter is the district’s biggest grievance, so carry your cup.
