1. Getting there: one train, five minutes from the station

The route is effectively single: the ITX-Cheongchun from Yongsan or Cheongnyangni to Gapyeong, 50–60 minutes, reserved seating — book both directions on weekends. From Gapyeong station, a base-fare taxi reaches the wharf in five minutes (a tourist loop bus also circulates). The five-minute ferry is included in your entry.

Entry costs ₩19,000 for adults (round-trip ferry included; fees revised April 2026). And for the eccentric: the zipwire (₩55,000, entry included) — ninety seconds of gliding from an 80-meter tower straight onto the island. As anecdotes go, it is elite.

2. Two to three hours on the island — just walk

Use the island simply: clockwise from the wharf — metasequoia lane, ginkgo lane, waterside path — and you collect every signature frame in two to three hours. Bikes rent cheaply, but this island suits walking pace. Autumn peaks late October to mid-November, when the ginkgos lay their gold carpet — aligning with Seoul’s peak on our foliage map.

3. Pairings: Petite France and the garden

The Gapyeong area scatters other sights — the recreated French village Petite France, the Garden of Morning Calm — linked by a tourist loop bus. But stacking them all turns the day into pure transit. Nami plus one is the realistic ceiling.

Homebound ITX trains fill up in the evening, Sundays especially. Lock in your return seat when you buy the outbound.

4. Who should go — and who can save it for later

Nami lands hardest for lane photographers, K-drama pilgrims, families (animals and lawns), and anyone wanting the city switched off for a day. If your Seoul stay runs three days or fewer, keep the city — the island’s charm trades on the journey itself.

For stays of four days or more, with one day to spend outside: the hour in which the Han narrows into the North Han outside your train window is a small journey in its own right — the easiest single sip of Korea beyond Seoul.
