An alley behind the Jewon Apartments in Yeon-dong, Jeju City. One low building under black roof tiles is the whole restaurant.

The sign reads 巨富 in Chinese characters, with 거부갈비 in Hangul underneath. It means “greatly wealthy.”

Inside it is wide. Red light, palm trees, a row of red lampshades along the ceiling. It feels less like a grill house than an old banquet hall.

The menu explains the name. One serving of hanwoo chuck flap tail is 65,000 won.

The place — Jewon 4-gil, a wide hall under red light

The address is 3 Jewon 4-gil, Jeju-si, Jeju-do. It sits inside the Sin-Jeju Yeon-dong commercial area, easy to reach from most hotels. The phone number is 064-745-7782, and Google Maps carries a Catch Table reservation link.

Hours are 11:30~23:00 daily, straight through from lunch to late night with no break time listed. That makes it an option when you want grilled beef late in the evening in Jeju.

At the table you get a wooden top with a round grill set into it. Charcoal goes in the middle, and small dishes are packed tightly around it: seaweed, pickles, ssamjang, shredded spring onion, pickled radish wraps.

Dombae galbi 38,000 won — it starts at 3 servings

The dish that gives the restaurant its name is dombae galbi. In the Jeju dialect, dombae means cutting board. The name comes from grilling the whole slab and slicing it on a board.

One serving is 300g of US beef, and the minimum order is 3 servings. In other words, two people cannot order it. The minimum comes to 114,000 won.

When it arrives you understand the three-serving rule. A large bone-in slab goes on the grill whole and is turned until the surface firms up. Vegetables and mushrooms are laid around it to catch the fat.

Once it is done, the meat is cut away along the bone with scissors. The outside is deeply charred and the inside stays red. The seasoning is light, so the beef itself comes first.

Hanwoo — boneless short rib, brisket, and chuck flap tail

The hanwoo arrives one plate per cut, spread thin across a white plate with green chilli and leafy greens on the side.

The marbling is fine. One serving of chuck flap tail (120g) is 65,000 won. Photo: The Seoulog · 2026-09

Chuck flap tail at 65,000 won works out to 54,166 won per 100g. Only a small amount comes off each animal, which is why it is priced this way. The marbling runs like a net, and fat beads up the moment it hits the heat.

The cooking time is short. Twenty to thirty seconds on one side, flip, the same again, then off the grill. Leave it longer and the fat renders out, which defeats the point of choosing the cut.

Thin-sliced brisket at 33,000 won is the opposite, thin enough to cook in an instant. Dipped in salt alone, the nutty flavour comes straight through. Beef tongue at 38,000 won is on the chewy side, so alternating cuts gives the table a rhythm.

If you want pork in the mix, there is Jeju pork collar cap at 21,000 won. At that price it sits well next to the hanwoo for comparison.

Finishing up, plus the map — naengmyeon, doenjang stew, and the rating

The closing dishes are distinctly Jeju. Geobu naengmyeon 10,000 won uses noodles pressed in house from Jeju buckwheat, served chilled in broth or mixed. Jeju abalone naengmyeon 13,000 won adds abalone on top. Anchovy doenjang stew 11,000 won is the Jeju version, simmered with salted anchovy. Rice 2,000 won.

At the bottom of the menu it says prices include tax. Nothing is added to the numbers shown.

In Sin-Jeju Yeon-dong, it is walkable from the area where most hotels are. Busan Seomyeon Yang Gopchang is in the same neighbourhood, which gives you a choice between beef and offal.

We report ratings honestly. This site uses ★4.5 on Google Maps with at least 100 reviews as its recommendation bar. As of September 2026, Geobu Galbi sits at ★4.6 with 63 reviews. The rating clears the bar, but the review count does not reach 100.

Expensive restaurants collect reviews slowly. One serving of chuck flap tail is 65,000 won and dombae galbi starts at 3 servings, so this is less a regular haunt than a place you visit once and eat properly. That the ★4.6 has held across 63 reviews suggests that single visit has mostly satisfied people.
